What is TIN (II) BROMIDE?
Chemical properties
off-white to grey crystalline powder
The Uses of TIN (II) BROMIDE
Stannous bromide acts a lewis acid. It is used to prepare alkyl tin compounds and in the spectrophotometric determination of iridium. It is involved in regioselective mono-etherfications of vicinal diols with diazo compounds. It acts as a catalyst to produce resinous lactone high polymers. It serves as a potent reducing agent.
Hazard
Skin irritant.
