The Uses of Monosodium phosphate

Monosodium Phosphate is an acidulant, buffer, and sequestrant that is mildly acid, with a ph of 4.5, and very soluble in water, with a solubility of 87 g/100 ml of water at 25°c. it is used as an acidulant in effervescent powders and laxatives. it is also used in soft drink dry-mix formulations, in cheese, and in carbonated beverages. it is also termed monosodium dihydrogen orthophosphate; sodium phosphate, monobasic; sodium biphosphate; sodium acid phos- phate; and monosodium monophosphate.
