Chromium potassium sulfate is a crystalline compound whose color may range from violet-red to black
The Uses of CHROMIUM POTASSIUM SULFATE
Tanning (chrome-tan liquors), textile dye (mordant), photography (fixing bath), ceramics.
General Description
The higher the pH more is the chromium (III) (crystal growth suppressor) adsorbed, on the surface of potassium sulfate crystal powder which is suspended in saturated solutions.
Hazard
Toxic by ingestion.
Safety Profile
Mutation data reported. Questionable carcinogen. When heated to decomposition it emits toxic fumes of K2O. See also CHROMIUM COMPOUNDS and SULFATES.
Potential Exposure
This material is used in tanning of leather; dyeing of fabrics; manufacture of glues and gums, chromium salts; ink, photographic emulsions, and ceramics
