What are the applications of Application
Physostigmine hemisulfate is a useful analogue of Physostigmine that acts as a potent and reversible inhibitor of cholinesterase.
brand name
Eserine Sulfate (Ciba Vision, US Ophthalmics).
General Description
Physostigmine sulfateoccurs as a white, odorless, microcrystalline powder that isdeliquescent in moist air. It is soluble in water (1:4), alcohol(1:0.4), and ether (1:1,200). It has the advantage over thesalicylate salt of being compatible in solution with benzalkoniumchloride and related compounds.
