The Uses of Cesium formate

Cesium formate could be used as a weighting agent of a novel drilling and completing fluid base fluid has excellent performance. This compound has a great potential for use as sealing and packing liquids as densities up to 2.3 SG can be achieved. Cesium formate is also used, for example, as a substitute for the highly toxic and corrosive zinc bromide salt solution. In addition, preburying cesium formate (CsFo) into the SnO2 electron transport layer (ETL) could stabilize the bottom side. The synergistic effect of cesium cation (Cs+) and formate anion (HCOO?) causes strain relaxation, void elimination, and defect reduction, which further facilitate charge extraction. In the presence of cesium formate in dry MeOH solution, α-halo ketones underwent a direct conversion reaction to afford α-hydroxy ketone in excellent yields. Introducing cesium formate (CsFa) as the Cs precursor COULD fabricate efficient WBG PSCs[1-3].
