Physical properties

Gray powder. Wear-resistant film. Oxidized in air at 700–800°C. Corroded in molten metals Al, Mg, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, and Nb. Corrosion resistant in molten Cd, Sn, and Ta

Molybdenum carbide is used in the production of solid molybdenum carbide grades of hard metal in the manufacture of mixed crystal.?It used as coating material.
