1-stearoyl-2-linoleoylphosphatidylcholine

1-stearoyl-2-linoleoylphosphatidylcholine Structural

What is 1-stearoyl-2-linoleoylphosphatidylcholine?

The Uses of 1-stearoyl-2-linoleoylphosphatidylcholine

1-Stearoyl-2-linoleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine s used in the preparation of a fiber with resistance to respiratory viral disease. The fiber has exogenous pulmonary surfactant which can enter the body through breathing and play an antiviral role.

The Uses of 1-stearoyl-2-linoleoylphosphatidylcholine

18:0-18:2 PC is suitable for use:

  • in the preparation of large unilamellar vesicles
  • in the preparation of liposomes
  • to prepare oxidised phospholipid by 2,2′-azobis(2-amidinopropane) dihydrochloride (AAPH) for multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) analysis

Definition

ChEBI: 1-octadecanoyl-2-[(9Z,12Z)-octadecadienoyl]-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine is a phosphatidylcholine 36:2 in which the acyl groups positions 1 and 2 are specified as octadecanoyl and (9Z,12Z)-octadecadienoyl respectively. It has a role as a mouse metabolite. It is functionally related to a linoleic acid and an octadecanoic acid.

General Description

18:0-18:2 PC is a non-fragmented oxidized phosphotidylcholine. It is a component of low density lipoprotein (LDL), which is a polyunsaturated fatty acid.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Phosphatidylcholine is one of the major glycerophospholipids of the eukaryotic membranes. It is essential for maintaining the structure and functions of the membrane. PC is the substrate for sphingomyelin synthesis. PC is the precursor for various second messenger like phosphatidic acid, lysophosphatidic acid, diacylglycerol.
