What is 1-Nitroso-2-naphthol?

Chemical properties

brown powder

The Uses of 1-Nitroso-2-naphthol

1-Nitroso-2-naphthol as a complexing agent for the on-line preconcentration of cobalt with FI-FAAS. 1-Nitroso-2-naphthol is the chelating ion-exchanger in the synthesis of alumina adsorbents that are of acidic, basic and neutral nature. It is used for the removal and preconcentration of Pb(II), Cu(II), Cr(III) from waste, as well as drinking water. It is also used in the preconcentration of cobalt using C(18) microcolumn with flow injection that is coupled to a flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FI-FAAS) system. 1-Nitroso-2-naphthol is used in the preparation of 1-nitroso-2-naphthol-sodium nitrite reagent.

The Uses of 1-Nitroso-2-naphthol

Organic synthesis, prevention of gum formation in gasoline, dye intermediate, analytical reagent.

What are the applications of Application

1-Nitroso-2-naphthol is a reagent for detection of tyrosine on chromatographic separation.

Definition

ChEBI: 1-Nitroso-2-naphthol is a member of naphthols.

Safety Profile

Moderately toxic by ingestion. Many nitroso compounds are carcinogens. Ignites whenheated to 124°C. Mutation data reported. When heated todecomposition it emits toxic fumes of NOx.
