What is 1-(4-Bromophenyl)ethanol?
Chemical properties
white to light brown crystalline powder
The Uses of 1-(4-Bromophenyl)ethanol
4-Bromo-α-methylbenzyl alcohol was used in the synthesis of 3-(4-(1-(tert-butyl)dimethylsilyloxy)ethyl)phenyl)-3-(trifluoromethyl)-3H-diazirine and (1-(4-bromophenyl)ethoxy)(tert-butyl)dimethylsilane.
Purification Methods
The (±)-racemate is purified by distillation in a vacuum (b 90o/1mm, 119-121o/7mm, d 1.46) and it solidifies on cooling (m 36-37o) [Overberger et al. Org Synth
