The Uses of Tris(2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethyl)amine
Tris[2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethyl]amine was used:
- in oxidation of arylmethanols under phase-transfer conditions
- as cryptand during phase-transfer glycosylation of 2-amino-4-methoxy-7H-pyrrolo[2,3-d]pyrimidine
- as phase-transfer catalyst in synthesis of 1,3-dideaza-2′-deoxyadenosine and related benzimidazole 2′-deoxyribonucleosides
Synthesis
Tris(2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethyl)amine was prepared by the reaction of 2-(2-methoxy-ethoxy)ethanol with a mixture of ammonia gas and hydrogen gas in the presence of catalytic amounts of Raney nickel.
