Definition
ChEBI: 1,4-dimethylcyclohexane is a cycloalkane that is cyclohexane substituted by a methyl group at positions 1 and 4. It has a role as a human metabolite and a plant metabolite. It derives from a hydride of a cyclohexane.
General Description
trans-1,4-Dimethylcyclohexane is a branched cyclohexane (C6) compound. Rate coefficients for the reaction of Cl atoms and OH radicals with trans-1,4-dimethylcyclohexane has been evaluated by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Oxidation of trans-1,4-dimethylcyclohexane with H2O2 catalyzed by hexafluorophosphate salt and carboxylic acid has been reported. Crystal structure of trans-1,4-Dimethylcyclohexane has been studied.
