Purify the iodide by crystallising it from EtOH, EtOH/diethyl ether (1:1), EtOH/water or aqueous acetone. Dry it at 50o under a vacuum and store it over P2O5 in a vacuum desiccator. Keep it away from light. [Beilstein 4 IV 472.]
