Palladium on barium carbonate (5% Pd/BaCO3) is a palladium catalyst that can be used in the cross-coupling reaction of arenediazonium salts with boronic acid at low catalytic loading. It can also be used as a catalyst in the diastereoselective hydrogenations of the imine for the synthesis of chiral trifluoromethyl benzylamines.

General Description

It can also be prepared by flame spray pyrolysis (FSP) by utilizing the precursor solution of aluminum sec-butoxide and palladium acetylacetonate.
