What is Stearyl Methacrylate ?

Description

Stearyl Methacrylate is an ester of Methacrylic Acid used as a raw material component in synthesizing polymers. It is a low-viscosity functional monomer with the characteristic high reactivity of acrylates and a long hydrophobic chain. Stearyl Methacrylate is a mixture of mainly C16 alcohol (Cetyl) and C18 alcohol (Stearyl) methacrylates. This compound forms homopolymers and copolymers prepared with acrylic acid and its salts, amides, esters, methacrylates, acrylonitrile, etc.

The Uses of Stearyl Methacrylate

Octadecyl Methacrylate is a reagent used in the preparation of high-strength hydrogels with shape memory functions and self healing properties.

The Uses of Stearyl Methacrylate

Monomer for plastics, molding powders, solvent coatings, adhesives, oil additives; emulsions for textile, leather, paper finishing.
