Description

This purine base is produced by Agarius nebularis Batsch. (Syn. Clitocybe nebularis). It is laevorotatory with [α]25D - 48.6° (c 1.0, H20).

Purification Methods

Nebularine is recrystallised from butanone/MeOH or EtOH and forms a MeOH photo-adduct. It is a strong inhibitor of adenosine deaminase [EC 3.5.4.4].
