Chemical properties
Colorless liquid; sharp odor; boils around120°C (248°F) at 30 torr; density 1.11;slightly soluble in water; miscible with alcohol and ether.
Health Hazard
This substance is moderately toxic by ingestion and skin contact (Lewis 1996). Itstoxicity, however, is lower than the ethylderivative. The evidence of its carcino-genic potency is inadequate. IARC has listedthis substance as “possibly carcinogenic tohuman” (group B carcinogen) (IARC 1998).LD50 , oral (rat): ~1100 mg/kgLD50 , skin (rabbit): ~1400 mg/kg.
