What is CYCLOPENTADECANOL?
Physical properties
Colorless oily liquid. Practically insoluble in water, soluble in alcohol and oils. Weak, musky odor.
What are the applications of Application
CYCLOPENTADECANOL has only little more than
academic interest, since it has been identified
as a component of the Musk from Louisiana
(American) muskrats. This Musk was suggested as a substitute for Tibet Muskdeer Musk
during World War II in the U.S.A., but the
Muskrat Musk was found to be much weaker
than the Himalayan Musk.
