p-Ethoxybenzaldehyde is synthesized by Ethylation of para-Hydroxybenzaldehyde. This aldehyde, which is very important as an intermediate in the manufacture of many naturally occurring flavor chemicals can be prepared from Phenol plus Hydrocyanic acid plus Hydrochloric acid.
