Description
Propylene glycol is a synthetic liquid substance that absorbs water. It has the appearance of a colourless, transparent, slightly syrupy liquid. It is used as a solvent for food colours and flavours; in the manufacture of polyester compounds and artificial cigarettes or fogs; and as a base for de-icing solutions. Propylene glycol is also used to absorb excess water and maintain humidity and is used in the chemical, food and pharmaceutical industries.
