What is TWEEN 65?

Chemical properties

Tan, waxy solid; faint odor, bitter taste. Sol in mineral oil, vegetable oil, mineral spirits, acetone, ether, dioxane, alc, methanol; dispersible in water, carbon tetrachloride.

The Uses of TWEEN 65

TWEEN 65 is an emulsifier manufactured by reacting stearic acid with sorbitol to yield a product which is then reacted with ethylene oxide. It is a nonionic surfaceactive agent which is dispersible in fat, oil, and water. It is also termed polysorbate 65. It is used in frozen desserts, cakes, and coffee whiteners. It is frequently used with sorbitan monostearates or monoand diglycerides. Typical usage range is 0.10–0.40%.

The Uses of TWEEN 65

Lonzest(R) STS-20 is a mid-range HLB, nonionic surfactant suggested for use in textile chemicals (lubricant, emulsifier), household products (o/w emulsifier) and cosmetic formulations (o/w emulsifier).

The Uses of TWEEN 65
