What is tert-butylamine hydrobromide ?

Description

Bearing a?tert-butyl bulky group, t-butylammonium bromide (tBABr) is commonly used to alter perovskite structures to promote material solubility and device stability - by making them less sensitive to moisture (compared to 3D methylammonium-based perovskites).

The Uses of tert-butylamine hydrobromide

Organohalide based perovskites have emerged as an important class of material for solar cell applications. Our perovskites precursors are useful for synthesizing mixed cation or anion perovskites needed for the optimization of the band gap, carrier diffusion length and power conversion efficiency of perovskites based solar cells.

Purification Methods

Recrystallise the salt several times from absolute EtOH or by dissolving in absolute EtOH and adding Et2O slowly to crystallise the salt. Dry it thoroughly at 105o. [IR: Chenon & Sandorfy Can J Chem 36 1181 1958, Beilstein 4 IV 659.]
