What is SOLWAY BLUE RN?

Preparation

1-Amino-4-bromoanthracene-9,10-dione?or 1-Amino-4-chloroanthracene-9,10-dione?and p-Methylaniline condensation, its product (C.I.Solvent Blue 13, C.I. 62080) products, and translated into sodium salt.

Purification Methods

Purify the dye by salting out an aqueous solution three times with sodium acetate, followed by repeated extraction with EtOH [McGrew & Schneider J Am Chem Soc 72 2547 1950]. [Beilstein 14 H 706, 725.]

Properties and Applications

blue. Dark blue powder. Soluble in ethanol, o-chlorophenol, slightly soluble in acetone, Pyridine, insoluble in chloroform, toluene. Strong sulfuric acid in purple purple still diluted. Used for wool, silk, polyamide fiber and wool blended dyeing, can be in wool, silk and polyamide fiber fabric printing directly, also used in leather, paper, soap and wood color. But with C.I.Acid Green 50 make Acid Blue BGA.
