PHENYL PHOSPHATE DISODIUM SALT Structural

What is PHENYL PHOSPHATE DISODIUM SALT?

Chemical properties

Crystalline

The Uses of PHENYL PHOSPHATE DISODIUM SALT

Phenyl phosphate disodium salt is used in phosphatase determinations. It is also used as reagent in chemical research.

The Uses of PHENYL PHOSPHATE DISODIUM SALT

Reagent in the testing of milk for proper pasteurization and for the presence of unpasteurized milk.

Purification Methods

Dissolve it in a minimum amount of methanol, filtering off any insoluble residue of inorganic phosphate, then precipitate it by adding an equal volume of Et2O. Wash the solid with Et2O and dry it in a vacuum [Tsuboi Biochim Biophys Acta 8 173 1952]. [Beilstein 6 IV 708.]
