What is CHES ?

Chemical properties

White/clear cryst. powder

The Uses of CHES

Biological buffer.

The Uses of CHES

CHES is zwitterionic buffer useful in pH range 8.6 to 10.0.CHES is widely utilized as a buffer which is used for investigations on pH-dependent processes in enzymology. It has been shown to have an unusually high affinity for the iodoacetate binding site of liver alcohol dehydrogenase.

The Uses of CHES

2-(Cyclohexylamino)ethanesulfonic acid (CHES) has been used in the preparation of dimethyl trisulfide- polysorbate 80 (DMTS-PS80) formulation.

What are the applications of Application

CHES is a zwitterionic buffering agent useful at pH 8.6-10.0, pKa 9.49 (25°C)

Definition

ChEBI: N-cyclohexyl-2-aminoethanesulfonic acid is an alkanesulfonic acid that is cyclohexanamine in which one of the amino hydrogens is substituted by a 2-sulfoethyl group. It is used as a buffer (pH range of 8.6-10.0) for studying pH-dependent processes in enzymology. It has a role as a Good's buffer substance. It is an alkanesulfonic acid and a secondary aliphatic amine.

What are the applications of Application

CHES belongs to the class of organic compounds known as cyclohexylamines. These are organic compounds containing a cyclohexylamine moiety, which consist of a cyclohexane ring attached to an amine group. It is often used as biological buffer. It can bind to hemagglutinin (HA) emulating with sialic acid (SA) and receptor binding site (RBS)-targeting broadly neutralizing antibodies.

General Description

CHES (2-(N-cyclohexylamino)ethanesulphonic acid) is regarded as Good′s buffers for its self-buffering and biocompatible feature. It is used in protein stabilization and does not interact with metals.
