What is glybuzole?
Originator
Gludease,Kyowa Hakko,Japan,1972
Definition
ChEBI: Glybuzole is an organic molecular entity.
Manufacturing Process
15.7 g of 2-amino-5-tert-butyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole (0.1 mol) and 17.6 g of benzene sulfonyl chloride (0.1 mol) were dissolved in 150 ml dry pyridine and heated over steam for 4 hr. The pyridine was removed by distillation under reduced pressure and the residue treated with 50 ml 2N HCl. The solid product, MP 162° to 163°C. was filtered off and recrystallized once from benzene and twice from 50% aqueous EtOH.
Therapeutic Function
Oral hypoglycemic
