What is DIPROPYL MALONATE?
The Uses of DIPROPYL MALONATE
Dipropyl malonate has been suggested for use in flavor compositions, e. g. Brandy, Rum, Tutti-frutti, etc. However, the taste is rather mild and uncharacteristic, and the material remains an occasional blenderimodifier, rarely used.
Production Methods
Dipropyl malonate is produced by hydrolysis of Cyanoacetic acid with propylalcoholic hydrogen chloride.
