What is CEDRENE?

The Uses of CEDRENE

Fractions from American Ccdarwood oil, rich in Cedrene, are used in perfume~ mainly for soaps, household products and in industrial perfumes, masking odors, etc. This sesquiterpene is the main component of “Eastern” or “Virginia” Cedarwood oil and is in fairly good supply, but at times insufficient to allow for this material to go into real large volume perfumery. Many interesting perfume materials are manufactured from Cedrene, and this puts a certain limit to the availability of the hydrocarbon.
