6-Methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline is used as pharmaceutical intermediate.

What are the applications of Application

Tetrahydro Para Methyl Quinoline is almost a standard ingredient, although always in discrete proportions. It is also used as a modifier for the excellent, but often neglected Tetrahydro-2-methylquinoline in Lilac bases, where it adds not only fixation, but also depth, warmth and very natural character to that type of floral note.

Preparation

Tetra Hydro Para Methyl Quinoline is prepared from 6-Methylquinoline hydrochloride by reduction with nascent Hydrogen, followed by neutralization.
