The Uses of 6-(4-Hydroxyphenoxy)hexyl acrylate

6-(4-Hydroxyphenoxy)hexyl acrylate is used in organic synthesis and pharmaceutical intermediates.

Preparation

The preparation of 6-(4-Hydroxyphenoxy)hexyl acrylate is as follows:10 g (47.56 mmol) of 4-(6-hydroxyhexyloxy)phenol, 50 ml (551.7 mmol)Methyl acrylate, 0.36g (3.75mmol)Methanesulfonic acid was added to the reaction flask, heated to 40 ° C, reacted for 3 hours, and distilled under reduced pressure. The reaction solution was added to water and stirred with methyl tert-butyl ether. The organic layer was collected, concentrated to dryness, and then filtered with ethyl t-butyl ether and n-heptane.After drying, 12.0 g of an off-white solid was obtained in a yield of 95.5%.The content is ≥98.5%.
