What is 3-METHYLBUTYRIC-D9 ACID?

The Uses of 3-METHYLBUTYRIC-D9 ACID

Isovaleric Acid-d9 is the labeled analogue of Isovaleric acid (I917570), a naturally occurring aroma compound found in Bartlett pear brandies, vanilla beans, rape-honey and banana.

Biological Activity

Isovaleric acid-d9 is the deuterium labeled Isovaleric acid. Isovaleric acid is a natural fatty acid and known to effect on neonatal death and possible Jamaican vomiting sickness in human. Stable heavy isotopes of hydrogen, carbon, and other elements have been incorporated into drug molecules, largely as tracers for quantitation during the drug development process. Deuteration has gained attention because of its potential to affect the pharmacokinetic and metabolic profiles of drugs[1].
