What is 3-hydroxyphenazepam?
Description
3-Hydroxyphenazepam is an active metabolite of the novel psychoactive benzodiazepine phenazepam, which emerged in online drug markets in late 2011. Despite being a controlled substance in Europe, North America, and many countries in Asia, phenazepam has been encountered in the form of LSD mimic blotters and as counterfeit diazepam. This certified Snap-N-Spike(R) solution is suitable for use as a starting material in calibrators and controls for numerous GC/MS or LC/MS applications in forensic analysis, clinical toxicology and urine drug testing.
The Uses of 3-hydroxyphenazepam
3-Hydroxyphenazepam, a metabolite of phenazepam, is also a GABAA receptor agonist. It has diminished myorelaxant properties, but is about equivalent in most other regards.Like other benzodiazepines, 3-hydroxyphenazepam behaves as a positive allosteric modulator of the benzodiazepine site of the GABAA receptor with an EC50 value of 10.3 nM. 3-hydroxyphenazepam is used in the treatment of neurological disorders such as epilepsy, alcohol withdrawal and insomnia. It can be used as a premedication before surgery as it augments the effects of anesthetics and reduces anxiety.
Benefits
3-Hydroxyphenazepam is a potent and effective benzodiazepine that works in the central nervous system. It provides calming effects by making the nerves in the brain less sensitive to stimulation. Benefits:
Treats insomnia and other sleep disorders
Does not violate natural sleep architecture
Instant relief of tension and mental stress
Reduces pain and helps you relax
Does not have myorelaxant side effects
Hypnotic and anticonvulsant effects
Biological Activity
Phenazepam is an anxiolytic and hypnotic sedative. 3-hydroxy Phenazepam is a major metabolite of phenazepam. There are significant differences in the rate of phenazepam metabolism in different species, so that 3-hydroxy phenazepam can be detected shortly after oral administration of the parent compound in cats, rats, and dogs but not in humans. The physiological and toxicological properties of this compound are not known. This product is intended for forensic and research applications.
