Thioethylene glycol, HSCH2CH2OH (prepared from ethylene oxide and hydrogen sulfide) is first reacted with sodium to give HOCH2CH2SNa.It is then reacted with decamethylene bromide, Br(CH2)10Br to give tiadenol.
