15-keto PGF2α MaxSpec® standard is a quantitative grade standard of 15-keto PGF2α that has been prepared specifically for mass spectrometry or any application where quantitativereproducibility is required. The solution has been prepared gravimetrically and is supplied in a deactivated glass ampule sealed under argon. The concentration was verified by comparison to an independentlyprepared calibration standard. This 15-keto PGF2α MaxSpec® standard is guaranteed to meet identity, purity, stability, and concentration specifications and is provided with a batch-specific certificate of analysis.Ongoing stability testing is performed to ensure the concentration remains accurate throughout the shelf life of the product. Note: The amount of solution added to the vial is in excess of the listed amount. Therefore, itis necessary to accurately measure volumes for preparation of calibration standards. Follow recommended storage and handling conditions to maintain product quality.
The Uses of 15-KETO PROSTAGLANDIN F2ALPHA
15-keto Prostaglandin F2α (15-keto PGF2α) is the first metabolite of PGF2α. in the 15-hydroxy PGDH pathway. It is one of the critical components in the goldfish and Atlantic salmon postovulatory pheromone. 15-keto PGF2α stimulates the male goldfish and salmon olfactory receptors with detection thresholds of 10-12 and 10-8 M, respectively. 15-keto PGF2α is 10-fold less active than PGF2α in decreasing rabbit intraocular pressure.
