Tubercidin is produced in the culture broth of Streptomyces tubericidus. It has a role as an antineoplastic agent, a bacterial metabolite and an antimetabolite. It is a N-glycosylpyrrolopyrimidine, a ribonucleoside and an antibiotic antifungal agent.
