PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
Description
Sulfamic acid (H2NSO3H) is a water-soluble, moderately strong acid. An intermediate between sulfuric acid and sulfamide, it can be used as a precursor to sweet-tasting compounds, a therapeutic drug component, an acidic cleaning agent, and a catalyst for esterification. It is a solid, strong acid that esterifies with the hydroxyl group on polysaccharides, thus introducing sulfonic groups to the polysaccharide molecular chain. The advantages of the sulfamic acid modification method are as follows: (1) sulfonated polysaccharide with a high DS can be obtained, and (2) the reaction efficiency is higher than the other three methods. However, organic solvents pose a threat to human health and the environment.
