Persistence and degradability

A biodegradation study based on BOD measurements, using an activated sludge seed, and an initial concentration of 100 mg/l, indicated 76.9% degradation of dicyclohexylamine after 2 weeks(1). Dicyclohexylamine was degraded under aerobic conditions by acclimated sewage enrichment cultures(2).

Bioaccumulative potential

An estimated BCF value of 1200 was calculated for dicyclohexylamine(SRC), using an estimated log Kow of 4.37(1,SRC) and a recommended regression-derived equation(2). According to a classification scheme(3), this BCF value suggests that bioconcentration in aquatic organisms is very high(SRC).
