Spill handling: evacuate and restrict persons not wearing protective equipment from area of spill or leak until cleanup is complete. Remove all ignition sources. Small quantities of barium metal may be dissolved in large quantities of water. Soda ash is added and the solution then neutralized with /hydrochloric acid/.
