Persistence and degradability

2,4-Dichlorotoluene was found to be susceptible to anaerobic metabolism in soil slurry microcosms under methanogenic conditions. 2,4-Dichlorotoluene, at an initial concentration of 800 uM was completely degraded after 130 days; 50% degradation required about 90 days.
