Perindopril is a primal blood pressure medicine developed by The French pharmaceutical company Schveal under the trade name Astar. This drug is a long-acting antihypertensive drug. After oral administration, the peak time of the drug is 2-4 hours, and the half-life is 30-120 hours. In China, the allowable dose is 4-8mg once a day. This medicine in addition to the ordinary dosage form, there is a compound preparation "peindopril indapamide tablet", the name of the commodity "Baipule", many domestic hypertension patients have eaten this medicine. Perindopril is an inhibitor of the enzyme (angiotensin converting enzyme) that converts angiotensin I to angiotensin II. This invertase, or kinase, is a peptide-endase that converts angiotensin I into angiotensin Il, which constricts blood vessels. It also degrades bradykinin, which dilates blood vessels, into heptapeptide, which is inactive. Inhibition of angiotensin converting enzyme leads to a decrease in plasma angiotensin ⅱ, which leads to an increase in plasma renin activity (through a negative feedback effect of inhibiting renin release) and a decrease in aldosterone secretion. Because angiotensin invertase inactivates bradykinin, angiotensin invertase allocation inhibition also increases the activity of the circulating and local kallikin-releasing enzyme (and thus prostaglandin system activation) system. This mechanism may be related to the lowering of blood pressure by angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors or to certain side effects, such as cough. Perindopril works through its active metabolite, perindopril. Other metabolites did not inhibit angiotensin converting enzyme activity in vitro
