The Uses of TIPA

A fluorescent trifunctional highly symmetric probe. Shows remarkably high nonlinear optical properties.

What are the applications of Application

Tris(p-isocyanatophenyl)amine is a fluorescent & trifunctional probe that exhibits nonlinear optical properties

Preparation

To a refluxing solution of triphosgene in 1,2-dichloroethane, a solution of tris(p-aminophenyl)amine in 1,2- dichloroethane was added dropwise and the mixture was heated to reflux under dry nitrogen. Tris(p-isocyanatophenyl)amine was obtained in 63% yield after purification by recrystallization from diethyl ether; mp 148 °C.
