What is RehMapicroside?

Description

Rehmangoside is a terpenoid compound derived from Rehmannia glutinosa, which is the fresh or dried root tuber of Rehmannia glutinosa. Rehmannia glutinosa is the root tuber of Rehmannia glutinosa, a perennial herb of the family Scrophulariaceae. It was first recorded in the "Shen Nong's Materia Medica" and is listed as a top grade. It is one of the famous "four herbal medicines" in China.

Chemical properties

White crystalline powder, soluble in methanol, ethanol, DMSO and other organic solvents, derived from Rehmannia glutinosa.

Preparation

The dried root of R. glutinosa was cut into small pieces and extracted with EtOH under reflux, and then the combined extracts were concentrated and treated under reduced pressure to obtain RehMapicroside.

Biological Activity

Rehmapicroside is an ionone glycoside isolated from the rhizome of Rehmannia glutinosa.
