Crystallise the nitroaniline from aqueous EtOH, EtOH or MeOH (m 163.5-164o). Dry it in vacuo. The N-methiodide has m 161o(dec) (from H2O). [Beilstein 12 H 714, 12 III 1584, 12 IV 1616.]
