(5β)-Androst-9(11)-ene-3,17-dione is the impurity of Testosterone (T155000), which is the principal hormone of the testes, produced by the interstitial cells. Testosterone is the major circulating androgen; converted by 5α-reductase in androgen-dependent target tissues to 5α-dehydrotestosterone that is required for normal male sexual differentiation.
