Tween 80 is a polysorbate nonionic surfactant that is hydrophilic and is used in many pharmaceutical formulations, including parenteral agents and certain vaccines. It also acts as an emulsifier and solubiliser in many food products, including bread, cake mixes, salad dressings, shortenings and chocolate.
