PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
description
Triphenylphosphine is an organophosphorus compound with the chemical formula P(C6H5)3, often abbreviated as PPh3 or Ph3P.It is a colourless or white crystal, soluble in non-polar organic solvents such as benzene and diethyl ether. It is widely used in the synthesis of organic and organometallic compounds as an effective reducing agent and neutral ligand. It is also used as a polymerisation initiator and intermediate to make pharmaceuticals, phosphorus salts and other phosphorus compounds.
