PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
Description
Sodium triacetoxyborohydride (NaBH(OAc)3) is a reducing agent characterized by a wide range of properties, mildness, selectivity, reduced toxicity of the by-products formed, high yields and better reproducibility. It can reduce aldehydes but not most ketones. It is particularly suitable for the reductive amination of aldehydes and ketones.
