Description

Calcium nitrate provides both readily available nitrate nitrogen and highly soluble calcium. In agriculture, it is used for drip irrigation, soilless cultivation, and foliar fertilizer to correct calcium deficiency symptoms such as blossom-end rot and bitter pit in melons and fruits, and to improve saline-alkali soil. In industry, it is used as an early-strength agent for concrete, aerated block gas generator, low-temperature de-icing agent, and calcium source for phosphorus and nitrification in wastewater. It can also be used to prepare explosives, heat storage materials, or perovskite precursors. It is a multifunctional salt that is water-soluble, low in chlorine, low in corrosiveness, and oxidizing.
