Benzene can be condensed with α-olefin under aluminum trichloride catalyst, the condensed liquid is washed with alkali and water, and then evaporated to recover benzene, and vacuum distillation can obtain refined alkylbenzene. Then it is sulfonated with fuming sulfuric acid and neutralized with white ash (in 2 times the amount of ethanol) to obtain calcium dodecylbenzene sulfonate.
