Mupirocin is a topical antibiotic. By reversibly binding to the isoleucine transfer RNA synthase, isoleucine can be prevented from entering the cell, thereby halting the synthesis of all proteins containing isoleucine. For acute primary bacterial skin infection, such as folliculitis, impetigo.
