Candesartan, the prodrug of Candesartan ester, is a new class of drugs acting on the renin-angiotensin system (RAS) rapidly developed after angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEI). Because it can selectively block angiotensin ⅱ receptors in circulatory system and tissues, it has better antihypertensive effect and fewer adverse reactions, so it is a promising antihypertensive drug.
Candesartan is an angiotensin receptor (AT1) antagonist that antagonizes angiotensin vasoconstriction by binding to the vascular smooth muscle AT1 receptor, thereby reducing peripheral vascular resistance It was also suggested that candesartan could inhibit the secretion of aldosterone by adrenal gland and play a certain antihypertensive role. 2 The experiments in patients with hypertension showed that repeated administration of candesartan could increase the concentration of plasma renin-active angiotensin and angiotensin. This product 2-8mg, once a day, can reduce systolic blood pressure diastolic blood pressure, left ventricular myocardial weight and peripheral vascular resistance, but has no significant effect on cardiac output, ejection fraction, renal vascular resistance, renal blood flow, glomerular filtration rate; It has no effect on cerebral blood flow in essential hypertension patients with cerebrovascular disorders
